Are you a worry wart?

How worrying blocks the flow of goodness in your life.

Are you a worrier?

Have you ever noticed how worrying makes you feel?

Have you ever been enjoying yourself, having a pretty good day then you start worrying about something - then all of the sudden you don’t feel good anymore? Is it just “what you do” or the way you’ve always been?

Do you find people that DON’T worry about things to be annoying because they don’t CARE enough?

Here’s the thing - worrying has NOTHING to do with CARING.

If you really stop and think about it, you can care deeply about anything and not worry about it. Worrying is just another habit, only this habit is not a healthy one...and it’s not the way to go through life!

Now, there’s some worry that is valuable.

For example, if you left the house and think you may have left some candles burning - then by all means, that is a valid worry. It’s also something that you can actually do something about. You can go back home and check or call a neighbor, or anyone who may have access to your home. However, this is not the kind of worry I’m talking about here today.

Let’s be honest - most things we worry about are not realistic and they never happen. Or we have no power to do anything about what we’re worried about. I invite you to tune into your “worry habit” so you can better use your time and energy in more productive ways. Here’s a couple of questions you can ask yourself the next time you find yourself caught up in the spiral of worry thoughts:

  1. Is what you’re worried about a REAL possibility? (This takes brutal honesty on your part and a giant dose of reality)

  2. Is there any action you can take NOW to make a positive difference? (This will help bring you back to the present moment)

If you can say YES to both of those questions, then your worry is valid AND you can do something right now about it that will dissolve the worry.

But, if you can’t say yes, then all you are doing is creating unnecessary misery for yourself.

I wanted to bring this up because as a Feel Good Junkie, I recognize that worrying chokes the flow of goodness coming into your life. When you’re so focused on what could possibly go wrong you miss out on all that’s already going right...not to mention all the other opportunities the Universe may be presenting to you that you’re going to miss out on!

Release your grip on your worry thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts around the BEST CASE scenario and watch your life change for the good.

You know what the best part of doing this is? You’re going to feel so good doing it - you’ll wonder what you were ever waiting for. Here's to breaking your worry wart habit!
